Biographie. John Mills débute au théâtre à la fin des années 1920 et y joue régulièrement dans son pays natal. Il se produit également à Broadway (), dans deux pièces, en 1961 et 1987.. Au cinéma (britannique principalement), il apparaît de 1932 à 2003, notamment dans plusieurs films de David Lean (dont La Fille de Ryan en 1970 qui lui vaut un Oscar).
