Sir Arthur John Gielgud, né le 14 avril 1904 à Londres et mort le 21 mai 2000 à Wotton Underwood (Angleterre), est un acteur britannique.. Il est considéré comme l’un des plus grands interprètes (avec Lord Laurence Olivier) du théâtre britannique, et shakespearien en particulier. En 1994, le Globe Theatre de Londres a été renommé le Gielgud Theatre en son honneur.

Best known for his Shakespearean roles in the theater, he first played Hamlet at the age of 26. He worked under the tutelage of Lilian Bayliss with friend and fellow performer Laurence Olivier and other contemporaries of the National Theatre at the "Old Vic", London.
