Picked this up solely based on the recommendation from Steven Wilson and Tim Bowness' 'The Album Years' podcast, episode #6 (1976). According to SW he gave a copy to Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth who loved it and even used 'John G Perry' as a placeholder title for one of the tracks on In Cauda Venenum up until the last minute before deciding on song titles.

Perry is an English bassist who emerged in the band Gringo with (future Sailor) drummer Henry Marsh.After the 1971 release Gringo, Perry joined Caravan for their 1973/74 albums For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night and Caravan and the New Symphonia.In 1975, he deputized the bass slot in Curved Air for their comeback album Midnight Wire.
