John Foster Dulles (Washington D. C., 25 de febrero de 1888 - Washington D. John Foster Dulles (/ ˈ d ʌ l ɪ s / DUL-iss; February 25, 1888 – May 24, 1959) was an American politician, lawyer, and diplomat. A member of the Republican Party , Dulles served as United States Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953 until his resignation in 1959 (due to his colon cancer diagnosis) and was briefly a Senator from New York in 1949.
John Foster Dulles was the U.S. secretary of state (1953–59) under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was the architect of many major elements of U.S. foreign policy in the Cold War with the Soviet Union after World War II. Dulles was one of five children of Allen Macy and Edith (Foster) Dulles.
