John Barry Prendergast, OBE (York, 3 november 1933 – Oyster Bay, 30 januari 2011) was een Brits componist van voornamelijk filmmuziek. Hij werd vooral bekend door de muziek die hij voor elf James Bondfilms componeerde. Ook voor tv-series schreef hij vaak de muziek; het bekendst is het thema van The Persuaders.

Durante la sua carriera Barry ha ricevuto cinque Oscar ed è noto per aver composto la colonna sonora di dodici film della serie di James Bond . È stato il primo marito dell'attrice Jane Birkin da cui ha avuto la figlia Kate (1967-2013).
