Sir John Joseph Caldwell Abbott PC QC KCMG (March 12, 1821 – October 30, 1893) was a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the third prime minister of Canada from 1891 to 1892. He held office as the leader of the Conservative Party. Abbott was born in what is now Saint-André-d'Argenteuil, Quebec.

John Abbott is a fictional character from the American CBS Daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless. He was the patriarch of the Abbott family, one of the core families introduced to the series in 1980. After a brief portrayal by Brett Halsey, the role was portrayed by Jerry Douglas.
John Joseph Caldwell Abbott was born on March 12, 1821, in St. Andrews, Lower Canada (now St.-André-Est, Quebec). He received his early education in St. Andrews and in Montreal, then entered McGill University. Abbott became a lawyer in 1847 and was made queen’s counsel in 1862.
