John "Duff" Lowe (Liverpool, 13 de abril de 1942-Liverpool, 22 de febrero de 2024) [2] fue un músico británico conocido por haber sido pianista de la banda The Quarry Men, fundada y liderada por John Lennon, que fue antecesora de Los Beatles.

"In Spite of All the Danger" is the first song recorded by the Quarrymen, then consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, pianist John Lowe, and drummer Colin Hanton. McCartney wrote the song and Harrison provided the guitar solo, and so the song is credited to McCartney–Harrison.
John Lowe, who was invited in 1958 by his Liverpool chum, Paul McCartney, to join the Quarrymen, the pre-Beatles rock ‘n’ roll/skiffle band formed by John Lennon, died February 22, 2024. Lowe, known as “Duff,” was 81.
