Omar Amin (born Johann Jakob von Leers; 25 January 1902 – 5 March 1965) was an Alter Kämpfer and an honorary Sturmbannführer [1] in the Waffen-SS in Nazi Germany, where he was also a professor known for his anti-Jewish polemics. He was one of the most important ideologues of the Third Reich, serving as a high-ranking propaganda ministry official.
Johann von Leers, auch Johann-Jakob von Leers (* 25. Januar 1902 in Vietlübbe, Mecklenburg [1]; † 5. März 1965 in Kairo, Ägypten; mit zahlreichen Pseudonymen nach 1945) war ein deutscher NS-Publizist und Jurist. Während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus wurde von Leers zum Universitätsprofessor für Geschichte ernannt.

He hated Jews and Judaism, as well as Christianity, which he regarded as a Jewish sect. As a young man, he had reached out to Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

Leers wrote for a variety of German audiences including the general public, academics, party officials, children and school teachers.
Early in the Nazi regime, there were several proposals to ‘resettle’ Germany’s Jews to places far removed from Europe. In 1933, Dr Johann von Leers, one of the NSDAP’s most vocal anti-Semites, proposed the creation of a Jewish state located far away from the European continent.
Johann von Leers was one of the most prolific Nazi anti-Semites. After the war, he fled to Italy and Argentina, eventually ending up in Egypt, where he converted to Islam and remained an active anti-Semitic propagandist until his death in 1965. His article proposes the removal of all Jews from Europe.
