Jin Zhang is a professor of pharmacology at UC San Diego, who studies the spatiotemporal regulation of signal transduction pathways in cells. He uses genetically encoded biosensors, superresolution imaging, biochemical perturbations and mathematical modeling to investigate energy metabolism, axon polarization, insulin secretion and tumorigenesis.
