Pitman also was known for his work with the North Florida band the Nightcrawlers, famed regionally for the garage-band touchstone “My Little Black Egg.”

He joined the classic version of the Daytona Beach band just before it broke up. Jimmy Pitman came to L.A. with the help of Murray Wilson, father of three of the Beach Boys.

  6. 17 de jun. de 2011 · I happily rejoined in 1969. Jimmy Pitman (of the Nightcrawlers) was the new lead singer. I thought Jimmy’s voice was great. We struck a deal with the Ludwig Drum Company and I got a new set with red-sparkled double bass drums. As the band struggled again to regain its success, Jimmy left and was replaced by Paul Marshall.
