16 de jun. de 2023 · Jimmy McCracklin was a renowned blues musician, singer, music industry entrepreneur, and songwriter.His hundreds of songwriting credits include his own recording of “The Walk,” which was a Top 10 hit for him in 1958, and “Tramp,” which was a Top 5 rhythm and blues (R&B) hit twice in 1967, first for Lowell Fulson and then as a duet by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas.

James David Walker Jr., better known by his stage name Jimmy McCracklin, was an American pianist, singer, and songwriter. His style contained West Coast blues, Jump blues, and R&B. Over a career that spanned seven decades, he said he had written almost a thousand songs and had recorded hundreds of them. McCracklin recorded over 30 albums, and earned four gold records.

Jimmy is in fine voice and shows his piano chops as he belts out Jump-Blues R&B and Soul numbers with his band. He is joined by Irma Thomas on a couple of tracks. It is estimated that Jimmy wrote almost a thousand songs, and he recorded over thirty albums. Jimmy lived in the Bay Area for decades and played the San Francisco Blues Festival in 2007.
