  7. 13 de nov. de 2009 · On October 4, 1988, Jim Bakker, the founder of Praise the Lord (PTL) Ministries, was indicted on federal charges of mail and wire fraud and of conspiring to defraud the public. The case against him exploded when he was accused of having sex with former church secretary Jessica Hahn, who became an overnight celebrity. He was convicted in 1989 and sentenced to 45 years in prison, but later released in 1994.
