That summer, Jerry Harrison, his bandmates, and producer Brian Eno met up in the Bahamas to begin work on their fourth album.The end result was a collection of songs that defied the conventional forms of rock music, taking inspiration from African rhythms and western funk music.

Jerry Harrison (né le 21 février 1949), est un musicien et producteur américain.. Il est le clavieriste du groupe The Modern Lovers (1971-1974) puis le guitariste et clavieriste des Talking Heads (1976-1991). Il a ensuite participé à Tom Tom Club et Casual Gods (en).. Il a produit des albums de Violent Femmes, Crash Test Dummies, Stroke 9 (Nasty Little Thoughts) et Live.
Jerry Harrison is best known as a former member of The Modern Lovers (1971 to 1974) and Talking Heads, where he played guitar and keyboards from 1976 until 1991 when the band split up, between 1981 and 1990 he also recorded three solo albums; two under the name Jerry Harrison: Casual Gods. He owns a recording studio called Sausalito Sound.
