24 de feb. de 2012 · His production company, Participant Productions, is what Skoll calls a "pro-social media company," making features and documentaries that address social and political issues and drive real change. His film North Country, for example, is credited with influencing the signing of the 2005 Violence Against Women Act.
"We had this premise," Skoll says, "that people are basically good, and if you give good people the opportunity to do good things with each other, they will." Garth Saloner, dean of Stanford's Graduate School of Business, singles out Skoll for "an understanding of the social fabric," be it at eBay or in humanitarian entrepreneurship.
