Jean Derome (born June 29, 1955) is a French Canadian avant-garde saxophonist, flautist, and composer. A prominent figure in the Montreal musique actuelle (new music) scene, Derome has been a member of experimental, jazz, and rock groups, and has appeared on over 30 albums, including seven solo albums.
Jean Derome, cofounder of Ambiances Magnetiques and one of Montreal’s most dynamic and provocative musicians, is an inspiration to all those who live in the imaginative new world of music. Derome was awarded the 1992 Freddie Stone Award. He has been an innovator in both the art and science of sound mixing.

Jean Derome was born on 29 June 1955 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is a composer and actor, known for Les fleurs sauvages (1982), La vie fantôme (1992) and Au fil de l'eau (2002).
