JAY DAVENPORT - Drums Born in 1960, Jay Davenport grew up on the south side of Chicago, listening to jazz, jazz-fusion and lots of 60’s and 70’s R&B. The title is a nod to the trio format featured on Mayall’s 2017 world tour, which includes longtime bassist Greg Rzab and drummer Jay Davenport. In 2016 Mayall released Talk About That, which featured Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Joe Walsh on two tracks.
As a trompe l’oeil painter, Jay Davenport is rooted in representational art, but his subject matter departs from tradition in offering commentaries on contemporary life--often humorous or ironic. His story began in the small village of Stillwater, Pennsylvania in 1972 where he spent the early years of his childhood.

Jay Davenport is a contemporary realist painter that specializes in exacting and witty trompe l’oeil. With a keen interest in fine art and the encouragement of his grandfather, Davenport received private art lessons as a child.
