Jane Elizabeth Vasey (October 16, 1949 – July 6, 1982) was a Canadian blues piano player, best known for her years playing with the Downchild Blues Band. Vasey played with the band from 1973 until her death, from leukemia, on July 6, 1982.

One of the first tunes Jane Vasey recorded after she joined the Downchild Blues Band in 1973 was Otis Spann’s Must Have Been the Devil. Par for the course – Spann was one of the very first blues pianists she’d heard, and she always loved his music.
In 1982, the band suffered a major setback with the untimely death of keyboard player Jane Vasey, who succumbed to leukemia at the age of thirty-two. Donnie Walsh, who was living with Vasey at the time, took a period of time off to reflect on his future and that of the band.

Pianist. Born at Winnipeg on 16 October 1949, daughter of Dorothy Mary Black (1920-2008) and Ross Emerson Vasey, she received a BA degree and Master's degree in Music from the University of Manitoba and was known as a “fine musician whose capabilities ranged from Bach to Blues.”
