1 de feb. de 2023 · Indeed, according to that Face article, two audience members, Leeway and Jane Shorter, subsequently joined the band to add percussion, though others insist Leeway met Bailey because both were teachers and Shorter, significantly, also played saxophone.. Currie, meanwhile, if not officially a member, is thanked for “playing and singing”, so yes: things were always ‘fluid’.
After the first album, the band's line-up shifted yet again. Saxophonist Jane Shorter left and was replaced by Currie (who also played percussion), and bassist Matthew Seligman, a former member of The Soft Boys and The Fallout Club, joined; leaving Bailey to switch to keyboards; and with Leeway starting to handle vocals on some tracks.
Although that also failed to trouble the charts in two new members joined – Jane Shorter on saxophone and their former roadie Joe Leeway on congas and percussion. Of course, Joe remained with them throughout their heyday. This was the line-up that recorded their debut studio album A Product Of… (Participation).
