James Roosevelt I (July 16, 1828 – December 8, 1900), known as "Squire James", was an American businessman, politician, horse breeder, and the father of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States.

31 de ene. de 2018 · Being the oldest of FDR’s sons, Jimmy Roosevelt entered military service first, receiving a commission as a Marine Lieutenant Colonel in 1936 at age 29. But as war was brewing in Europe a few years later, his high rank seemed to come without merit, and complaints of nepotism began to be voiced by other Marines.
James Roosevelt was the author with Sidney Shalett of Affectionately, FDR, published in 1959. He was the author with Bill Libby of By Parents, A Differing View (1976). He was also the author with Sam Toperoffof a novel, A Family'. Ma~ (1979).
