Biography. James McAvoy was born on April 21, 1979, in Glasgow, Scotland. The son of a builder and a nurse, he was the product of a broken home before the age of 7 and consequently lived with his Glasgow grandparents James and Mary Johnstone. Although he would make amends with his mother, James McAvoy would never again speak with his father.
He later reprised his role in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Dark Phoenix (2019).
