Paul Jackson Pollock ( /ˈpɒlək/ Cody, Wyoming; 28 de enero de 1912- Springs, Nueva York; 11 de agosto de 1956), más conocido como Jackson Pollock, fue un influyente pintor estadounidense y principal artista del expresionismo abstracto. Pollock alcanzó reconocimiento por su estilo de chorrear pintura ( dripping ).
Pollock luchó toda su vida contra el alcoholismo, que le provocó no pocas desgracias. La última de ellas, el accidente automovilístico que acabó con su vida a los 44 años, cuando ya era una leyenda en vida y los jóvenes artistas americanos lo tenían como una figura casi mítica.
