This classic fusion of melodic song writing, male-female harmony vocals and searing electric guitar finally makes its long-awaited CD debut here, complete with an ultra-rare post LP bonus track. Before forming Genesis, leader Jack Ttanna had played with psych legends The Sons Of Adam, while guitarist Kent Henry would go on to join Steppenwolf.
Forget the UK band (I enjoy the UK band especially the 1970-77 era), this Genesis very much stands on its own, particularly if you love West Coast psych. The group consisted of Jack Ttanna on vocals and guitar, Kent Henry on additional guitar, Fred Rivera on bass, Bob Metke on drums and Sue Richman on vocals.
Angeline (Jack Ttanna - Bob Metke) - 2:48 Imagine the kind of focused psych/hard rock tune that the Airplane always wanted to record, but could never sober up long enough to generate. Excellent track that served to showcase Sue Richman and Jack Ttanna's wonderful vocals (they beat Grace Slick and Marty Balin to shreds), and Kent Henry's screaming, fuzz lead guitar.
