He was 75. Reitman died peacefully in his sleep Saturday night at his home in Montecito, Calif., his family told The Associated Press.

Ivan Reitman werd net na de Tweede Wereldoorlog geboren in het destijds Tsjecho-Slowaakse Komárno als de zoon van Klara en Ladislav Reitman. Zijn ouders waren joods.
