Isn't It Shocking? plot. Dan Barnes (Alan Alda) is the sheriff in a small New England town. When an unusually high number of old people die in the town, Dan decides to investigate. He comes to the conclusion that the elders have been murdered, but cannot identify any motives or suspects.
