Biography. Later life and death. References. Ishbel MacDonald. Ishbel Allan MacDonald (2 March 1903 – 20 June 1982) [1] was the daughter of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Ramsay MacDonald [2] and his wife Margaret MacDonald née Gladstone.
Ishabel T. MacDonald is a Gaelic tradition bearer who has served Gaelic culture as a singer, singing teacher, song collector, composer and writer. She was very much involved in the first-ever Fèis, held on Barra in 1981, from which the Fèisean movement developed and has contributed to the repertoires of emerging and established singers.

Ishbel Hall (aka Ishbel Macdonald) is known for Britannia: The Great Elizabethan Journey (2009), The Private Life of Chickens (2010), Who Were the Greeks? (2013) and Britain's Lost Masterpieces (2016 - 2022). She grew up in the Scottish Highlands and studied archaeology and anthropology at the University of Cambridge.
