City State of the Invincible Overlord is a fantasy role-playing game supplement originally published by Judges Guild in 1976. It was the first published fantasy role-playing game city setting, designed for use with Dungeons & Dragons ( D&D ), and officially approved for use with D&D from 1976 through 1983.

City State of the Invincible Overlord guidebook. So I’ve recently decided to get a proper look into the classic wilderlands setting and bought all of the revised maps in print from drivethrurpg. I also decided to get the map for the City State, and it looks quite nice. Problem is I don’t really know much about the city or what’s in it.

After securing a license from TSR Bob Bledsaw and Bill Owens went to GenCon with sets of 34" by 44" inch maps of the City-State and a plan to sell subscriptions to the later products.
