The Pineapple Thief is a British progressive rock band, founded in 1999 by Bruce Soord in Somerset, England. History[edit] Early years[edit] Founder Bruce Soord started The Pineapple Thief as an outlet for his music back in 1999. Initially, the band's name was simply Pineapple Thief, after a dialogue in the movie Eve's Bayou.
