This album had been on my radar for ages, but with such a large back catalogue of Bryan Ferry solo music, it took me an age to get around to adding this album. The quality of 'In Your Mind' has exceeded my expectations. Many reviews are quite negative but with eight self-penned tracks, in many ways I consider this album to be Bryan Ferry's finest 1970's solo album.

Bryan Ferry's genius as a songwriter and singer has gone sadly unrecognized in the US, but In Your Mind represents him at the height of his powers: powerful, riff-driven rock and roll--the guitar intro to Love Me Madly Again is worth the price of the album. And Ann Odell's string arrangements flesh out the rhythmic landscape to perfection.
Ferry may have been ensconced in the glamorous nightlife of the international capitals, but In Your Mind is by no means a soulless party romp. “One Kiss” and “Rock of Ages” are two of his most aching and elegant ballads, while the closing title song provides a moment of slowly levitating grandeur similar to the solo work of Ferry’s old bandmate Brian Eno.
