  7. The band assumed the name Illinois Speed Press in February 1968. Rob Lewine replaced Anderson prior to recording their first album. This debut showed a promising grasp of melody, but within a year, David and Cotton were the only remaining members. They completed Duet together before the latter guitarist accepted an offer to join Poco.
