In early 1970s Harlem, daughter and wife-to-be Tish vividly recalls the passion, respect and trust that have connected her and her artist fiancé Alonzo Hunt, who goes by the nickname Fonny. 1 de ene. de 1974 · If Beale Street Could Talk is, as of right now, my favorite work of his; not least of all because it had an unmatched sense of urgency and relevancy to it. The novel was written (if not revised for publication) by Baldwin in the 1950s, but ultimately published in 1974.
