Hugh Herr is an associate investigator and professor of media arts and sciences at MIT Media Lab and co-director of the K. Lisa Yang Center for Bionics. He creates bionic limbs that emulate human biomechanics, improving mobility for people with paralysis and limb loss. He has won several awards and honors for his innovative work in biomechatronics, including the TIME magazine "Leader of the Bionic Age" award in 2011.
