6 de sept. de 2017 · Holger Czukay, co-founder of Can, student of Karlheinz Stockhausen and maker of great music, has died. In this interview, originally published on tQ in 2014 to mark 40 years since the release of Canaxis 5, he spoke to Bobby Barry about Stockhausen, John Lydon and learning to fly.
German musician, who studied under Karlheinz Stockhausen from 1963–1966, and in 1968 co-founded the German rock group Can, for whom he played bass guitar, as well as undertaking most of their recording and engineering. Czukay also recorded some early ambient albums, and was influential for his utilization of radio sounds and sampling.

Canaxis 5. Canaxis 5 (or simply Canaxis) is the only studio album by the Technical Space Composer's Crew, released in 1969 by Music Factory. On later issues, the artist credit was changed to Holger Czukay and Rolf Dammers. The album was remixed for Spoon Records releases and again for the Revisited Rec. release.
Holger Czukay, rodným jménem Holger Schüring, (24. března 1938 – 5. září 2017) byl německý baskytarista.V letech 1963 až 1966 studoval hudbu u Karlheinze Stockhausena.Roku 1968 začal vyučoval na střední škole ve Švýcarsku. Svou hudební kariéru zahájil roku 1968, kdy založil kapelu Can.Tu opustil v roce 1977, dva roky před jejím rozpadem.
