Highgate School is situated in Highgate, an established eastern suburb of the city of Adelaide, South Australia, approximately 6km from the city centre. The school was opened on 23rd July 1923, celebrating its centenary last year. In 2024, we have approx. 600 students across Reception – Year 6.
Highgate Pre-Prep is for pupils aged 4-7 years. In September 2023, we became a three-form entry school with Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes, with a total intake of 180 pupils. 7+ Bursaries. In September 2022, we introduced our bursary programme to the Junior School, so that children aged 7+ will be able to benefit from a Highgate education. It is our intention that bursaries will cover 50%-100% of the fees, making a Highgate education more accessible to a wider group of academically able children.
Admissions. The main points of entry to Highgate are at 4+, 7+, 11+ and 16+. We are sometimes, but not often, able to offer an occasional place in another year group necessitated usually by family re-locations.
