MC5 came into High Time smarting from the commercial failure of their previous album 'Back in the USA' which crept up to no. 137 on the billboard charts 100 places and more lower then their debut. There was also dismay at what the band felt was the artistic failure of live debut 'Kick Out the Jams' where they felt the performances were considerably below what they felt was their best.
High Time is the second studio album by the American rock band MC5, released in 1971 by Atlantic Records.
