22 de abr. de 2024 · Tubular Bells was the debut studio album by English multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Mike Oldfield conceived in 1971 and finally released in 1973. Oldfield, who was just 17 years old when he started composing the music, recorded and played almost all of the instruments on the album.
28 de abr. de 2024 · Despite his demo having no real pop or charting sensibilities Branson liked what he heard enough to give Oldfield the chance to finish his creation. Once it was recorded the album, called Tubular Bells, was released as Virgin’s very first record a week after Oldfield turned 20, in 1973.
23 de abr. de 2024 · Tubular Bells – the 1973 debut album by composer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Oldfield – will be celebrated with a new live show that will be toured across Australia in August 2024. The full-band arrangement has been put together by longtime Oldfield collaborator and musical director Robin A. Smith, who will also serve as bandleader on the tour.

24 de abr. de 2024 · The concert will feature an expansive live group, conducted and arranged by Oldfield’s long-term collaborator Robin Smith, which will see the iconic Tubular Bells performed in full, as well as other works by Mike Oldfield including Moonlight Shadow, Summit Day, Family Man and Ommadawn.
