Henry Carlton Cumberbatch (8 December 1900 – 27 January 1966) was an officer of the British Royal Navy who served as a submarine commander before and at the start of the Second World War.

Biografía. Benedict nació en Londres ( Inglaterra ), hijo de los actores Timothy Carlton (nombre de nacimiento Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch) y Wanda Ventham. Tuvo (fallecida en 2021) una media hermana mayor por parte de madre llamada Tracy Tabernacle. Su bisabuelo, Henry Arnold Cumberbatch, fue cónsul general británico en Turquía.
His great-grandfather, Henry Alfred Cumberbatch, was also a diplomat who served as consul in Turkey and Lebanon, and his grandfather, Henry Carlton Cumberbatch, was a submarine officer of both World Wars, and a prominent figure of London high society.
