  1. Having a Rave Up with the Yardbirds, or simply Having a Rave Up, is the second American album by English rock group the Yardbirds. It was released in November 1965, eight months after Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton on guitar. It includes songs with both guitarists and reflects the group's blues rock roots and their early experimentations with psychedelic and hard rock.

I think it also conclusively proves that Jeff Beck was the key to The Yardbirds’ success: he gave the band a singularly unique guitarist, an exploring, inquisitive mind, and a passion for excellence that raised everyone’s game.

While it has often been left out of lists, it’s undeniable that this LP deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the best musical works of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones – two groups from the British Invasion that overshadowed them.

The Yardbirds are rarely mentioned in the template of musical discussions concerning rock history, and then only for the Mount Rushmore guitar chair of Clapton, Beck, and Page.

  6. 21 de oct. de 2006 · I consider this disc to be the best one that the Yardbirds produced as all of the songs are very listenable. My favorite non-single song is "Train Kept A-Rollin' " . This song should have been at least on the "B" side of a "45" but it was not . I think it was overlooked somehow. I recommend this disc to anyone looking for a great Yardbirds disc.
