'Live at Ungano's' is a document to the best time in the Stooges' original tenure as a protopunk rock band, and was nearing their first end. Dave Alexander had been out of the band for a few months with his replacement being Zeke Zettner. James Williamson would be added the next year to assist Ron Asheton on guitar.
The usual caveats apply to a live Stooges recording made available years after the fact. But Have Some Fun: Live at Ungano's, while far from a revelation, is definitely fun. The version of "1970" on here is absolutely killer, as are chunks of the "L.A. Blues"-like improv number "Have Some Fun / My Dream is Dead."
