  1. Harry Bowens. (b. October 8 th. 1949). Vocalist who came to prominence as a member of funk & R&B outfit, Was (Not Was). Was (Not Was) is an American pop group founded by David Weiss and Don Fagenson, who adopted the stage names David Was and Don Was. They gained popularity in the 1980s and early 1990s.

  2. Their first album Was (Not Was) (1981) was an amalgam of rock, disco, Weiss's beat poetry, Reagan-era political - social commentary, and jazz.
