If you went to school in Hackney and left secondary school between 1960-1975 (or there abouts) I set up the group with the aim of having a big reunion. We had one in 2002 at Hackney Town Hall with more than 250 people. This was an all-inclusive ticket do, which included drinks, food, DJ and venue.
They had enrolled in August 1947, which, as Geoffrey Alderman points out in his book, Hackney Downs 1976-1995, The Life and Death of a School (The Clove Club, £14), was one of its “Golden Years”.
