For much of his professional rock & roll career, Nils Lofgren supported both Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young, but he also cultivated an impressive, idiosyncratic cachet in his own right, starting with the records he made with Grin in the late '60s, running through his own compositions with Crazy Horse, and then on a series of solo recordings that started with 1975's eponymous debut.
22 de ene. de 2016 · Born in Chicago in 1951 to an Italian mother and Swedish father, Lofgren latched onto music at an early age and never let go. By 1968, he had formed Grin, a proto-power trio built around his weighty riffs and for whom he was also singer and chief songwriter. Soon after this he met Neil Young, sneaking backstage at a local club to seek him out.
Nils Lofgren is a virtuoso rock guitarist who has recorded and performed with Bruce Springsteen as a member of the E Street Band, Ringo Starr and Neil Young. He enjoys a successful solo career as a founding member of the seventies group Grin through over 40 releases including Acoustic Live, The Loner – Nils Sings Neil and an extensive box set retrospective Face The Music.
Nils Lofgren nació en Chicago en 1951, de ascendencia italiana y sueca. Luego se trasladó con su familia a la ciudad de Bethesda, Maryland. Su primer instrumento fue el acordeón clásico.
