Matthew Gregory Wise (born 15 May 1966) is an English actor and producer. He has appeared in several British television programmes and feature films. He played the role of John Willoughby in Sense and Sensibility , which also starred Emma Thompson , whom he later married.

9 Videos 16 Photos He was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and is the son of distinguished architect Professor Douglass Wise. It was assumed that he would be an architect, so he studied architecture in Edinburgh. He dropped out, though, after a while, and went to Glasgow to study drama.

Thompson's husband, Greg Wise, whom she met on the set of Sense and Sensibility. Thompson was living alone as her relationship with Branagh deteriorated and she became depressed. While filming Sense and Sensibility in 1995, she began a relationship with her co-star Greg Wise.

During an interview, Emma mentioned that before she got together with Greg he showed significant romantic interest in Kate.
