At Great Ballard we aspire to greatness. It's in our name. Our school is set in the South Downs national park near Chichester, West Sussex and is matched by a warm, caring and nurturing environment for children between the ages of 4 and 16.
Great Ballard School is a co-educational independent school for children aged 2½ to 16 years. It was founded in 1924 and set up at its current location in Eartham, near Chichester, West Sussex, England, in 1961. The headmaster is Matthew King.
Eartham House became the home of Great Ballard School and is still its home today upholding the original ethos and values started back in 1924 by Ivor Poole. One important change to the school is that it is no longer just a boarding school for boys, it offers day and boarding opportunities for both boys and girls with all children being given the same opportunities.
Why Great Ballard Our welcoming School Office team look after every aspect of the admissions process and should be the first port of call for all prospective parents. Our main entry points are at Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9 but, subject to us being able to match course requirements, students can join Great Ballard any time during the school year, even mid-term, as long as we have space.
