27 de mar. de 2017 · Hopper was born on December 9, 1906 in New York City. As a child, she attended a preparatory school in New Jersey. Later, she enrolled at Vassar College. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Hopper went to Yale University, where she earned her Masters and PhD in Mathematics. Afterwards she began teaching at Vassar College.

Grace attended the Hardridge School in Plainfield, New Jersey, before enrolling in Vassar College at the age of 18. In 1928, she graduated with a degree in mathematics. She went on to graduate school in mathematics at Yale, earning her master’s degree in 1930 and her Ph.D. in 1934. In 1930, Grace met and married Vincent Hopper.
