15 de feb. de 2021 · In many ways, Ginger Baker’s Air Force is the clearest expression of Baker’s clouded muse, mixing rock, jazz and African music in a combustible live setting that covers its sins with showmanship. Given how much Baker was able to achieve in a trio setting, a ten-piece band might seem like overkill. And, of course, it is.
Ginger Baker's Air Force as heavy Traffic vibes (for obvious reasons), but also comes off as a tour de force of great musicians of that time, many who had interacted with Baker in other bands. Solid live album from that period of rock music.

10 de oct. de 2019 · Am 06.10.2019 verstarb Ginger Baker im Alter von 80 Jahren, Grund meine Alben von Ginger Baker’s Airforce wieder anzuhören. Es sind genau ein Doppelalbum in Vinyl und eine DCD. Das Exemplar in Vinyl nennt sich „Once Upon A Time“ und erschien nach 1972, das genaue Jahr ist nicht vermerkt, nur in Deutschland.Es ist identisch mit der Pop History Vol. 18.
