Most of the Villa is still underground, but Getty’s architects adapted a plan of the exposed part drawn by 18th-century excavators and incorporated details from other ancient houses in nearby Pompeii and Herculaneum to realize his vision. May 2022. The Getty Villa is the museum just off the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH that includes a replica of a Roman villa (not the same as the Getty Center). The grounds are beautiful, as are the villa gardens, and those by themselves are worth the price of admission (which is $0).
