Gerald James McGee, known as Gerry McGee, was born in Eunice, Louisiana on November 17, 1937, into a very musical Cajun family. His father, Dennis McGee, was a pioneer of Cajun music, and was making records as a Cajun fiddler as far back as the 1920″s and 1930″s. He continued playing until shortly before his death, well into his 90″s.
The Ventures are an American instrumental rock band formed in Tacoma, Washington, in 1958, by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle.The band, which was a quartet for most of its existence, helped to popularize the electric guitar across the world during the 1960s. While their popularity in the United States waned in the 1970s, the group remains especially revered in Japan, where they have toured regularly.
