Formed in the Netherlands by twin brothers Chris and Gerard Koerts, and most popular in 1970, after adding a female singer, turning frontwoman, Jerney Kaagman. Earth and Fire's first eight singles were a practically uninterrupted string of top-5 hits in the Netherlands (1970-1974).

A founding member of Earth And Fire in the late 1960s, he left the band in 1983. He co-founded Earth And Fire Orchestra in 1988.
10 de feb. de 2018 · Earth and Fire evolved from The Swinging Strings, a Voorschoten beat combo led by twin brothers Chris Koerts (guitar) and Gerard Koerts (keyboards). In 1968, they teamed with the rhythm section of local rivals The Soul: bassist Hans Ziech and drummer Cees Kalis. Influenced by American acid rock, the new band initially gigged as Opus Gainfull.
