The Buckinghams are an American pop [2] band from Chicago. They formed in 1966 and went on to become one of the top-selling acts of 1967, charting their only five top 40 hits in the U.S. that year. The band dissolved in 1970, but re-formed in 1980 and as of 2022 they continue to tour throughout the United States.

DENNIS TUFANO: John Poulos came to me and George LeGros because he’d heard us sing; we were in a an a cappella group called the DarSals. He said he was in a band with some guys who could play well but couldn’t sing and asked if we were interested in joining.
28 de ago. de 2021 · The founding member we all considered the “heart” of The Buckinghams, John Poulos, and early founding member George LeGros as well as final founding member, Marty Grebb, are no longer with us. Dennis will share memories from his heart and will be wonderful in representing all of us from the beginning.
In the beginning, drummer John Poulos personally recruited the band members ... first myself and George LeGros, to be the singers in his new band, The Pulsations. John and I then added Carl Giammarese and Curtis Bachman from the band The Centuries, with whom Nick Fortuna played rhythm guitar.
The Buckinghams started out in the mid-1960s when Carl Giammarese (guitars) and Nick Fortuna (bass) joined as members of the Centuries. Later the duo was joined by Dennis Miccolis (keyboards), John Poulos (drums), George LeGros (vocals) and Dennis Tufano (vocals).
