3 de feb. de 2013 · The story of John’s Children begins in 1965 in Great Bookham, where drummer Chris Townson, guitarist Geoff McClelland, harmonica-player Andy Ellison, and singer Louis Grooner played in a band called The Clockwork Onions.
16 de mar. de 2017 · Geoff McClelland was played guitar and Chris learned to play drums since they didn’t need another guitar player. Another grad from the Box Hill Boarding School, Louis Grooner, was chosen to be lead vocalist due to his being a “show-off.”
13 June 2021. Hot on the heels of our previous update, we haste to add that there is also a super cool Silence 7" out now from Easy Action Records. The Silence, as you may know, were the original John's Children in all but name (L-R in the photo: Geoff McClelland, Chris Townson, John Hewlett, Andy Ellison).
Geoff McClelland has a really cool fuzz guitar sound on the solo and the last chorus on that version. Come And Play With Me In The Garden (Ellison/Hewlett) A re-edited and remixed version of an earlier B-side, "Remember Thomas à Becket".
